Blood does not always a sister make

It sometimes comes in a handshake

"For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother." Matthew 12:50

It is true that I don't always see eye to eye with my biological sisters. We have our differences of opinion and that does not make either of us wrong. It only makes us different. I love my sisters even if it doesn't really seem so at times. They are both beautiful people in their own right. And I am glad I have my sisters, even if I don't say so often.

I have many sisters who are near and dear to my heart that have no blood relation to me. I know a sister when I meet her. I can feel it in the handshake. In the first words spoken, I know if this woman is going to be a sister. A sister is someone who shares your thoughts and feelings, yet leaves you to be your own person! A sister understands you partly because she is a sister. Partly becausse she has walked your road and women just seem to know that. You can feel it in the handshake.

Sisters share your heart, your soul, your triumphs and victories as well as your deepest sorrows. A sister shares your happiness and sadness as well as her own. True sisters just know, they don't have to always be right and they don't have to always be by your side to remain a sister. Many of my sisters I rarely see or talk to but their value remains the same and they always hold my heart. It is when you see each other and the conversation continues as though it was only yesterday.

Sisters don't need to be named. They know who they are. You can feel a sister in your heart. Feel free to forward this to any of YOUR sisters. You are a true sister and I am sending this to you!
